Class Axe Throwing San Antonio + Giveaway for Tickets

This giveaway would not be possible without Class Axe Throwing- San Antonio, however, all opinions are my own.

J’s birthday is on December 11th. It’s a hard birthday to shop for, not only because he is a hard person to shop for, but also because Christmas is two weeks after his birthday so I never know what to get him for his birthday versus Christmas. He jokes about how I always ask him, “do you want your big gift for your birthday or for Christmas?”

Because I’m looking for multiple gifts for him around this time of year, I most often have to venture off the very small list of “wants” he gives. He’s the type that just goes out and buys something when he wants it, especially around the holidays with all the sales going on, leaving me to my own imagination.

So what do I get someone who 1) has or goes out and gets everything he wants, and 2) doesn’t necessarily prefer things he needs as gifts (i.e. socks, work shirts, boxers).

While on Instagram one night, I came across a fellow SATX blogger The Stylin’ Brunette’s InstaStory where she was at a place called Class Axe Throwing throwing axes with her boyfriend. J is into viking shows and all that rugged man stuff, so I knew he’d dig this. I logged on and booked our time slot and tickets for the Friday before his birthday.

It’s an hour 1 and a half hours of fun throwing a 1.5 lb piece of whirling wood and metal at large wall targets. After getting acquainted with small little weapon in your hand, you compete with fellow axe-throwers in a variety of games. Don’t worry, each Axe Throwing session is run by trained experts who will show you how to safely handle an axe and chuck it with accuracy while giving you tips on how to capture that illustrious Bullseye! We had A BLAST with our instructor Sarah. Not only was she so much fun, but she offered constructive criticism to help improve our game.

They allow you to bring in beer or wine & snacks to really spruce up your outing. No hard liquor of obvious reasons. Mini fridges are available to keep your beer and food cold, if necessary. A few non-alcoholic beverage items are for sale, as well.

I must admit that I was pretty darn good at throwing an axe and hit the bullseye several times. However, that just wasn’t enough to pull out a W against the cute couple we competed against. They were on their 3rd date at the time and looked like they were into each other. (Fingers crossed)

A blast was had by all that night, and it was such an out-of-the-box date night experience. J and I have plans to bring our group of friends back for some more fun. In fact, you can bring up to 12 people in your group. This is perfect for birthday parties, family reunions (only if you are on good terms with them… there are weapons, y’all :P ) , company team building, or just a bad “axe” time with some friends.

They are even starting an axe throwing LEAGUE next year. How fun! Locations span across the USA- Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Dallas, & one is even coming to Houston.

Because I loved it so much, and pretty much couldn’t stop telling Sarah she was going to see my face again, they have so graciously offered my readers & instagram followers 2 FREE TICKETS to the San Antonio location!
