My Week in a Nutshell: 2/5-2/11

Oh em gee. You know that Keith Urban song with the lyrics, "Days go by. I can feel 'em flyin' like a hand out the window in the wind..." No truer words have been spoken to sum up these past few weeks, but this last one in particular.

I spend most days in the car driving to the office or my sister's place for meetings and strategy sessions. And the weekends don't really exist because clients want to see homes. Honestly, I'm not complaining. I understand real estate is an industry dictated by client schedules rather than your own. Luckily, we have things to do, and each day we take steps towards our ambitious end-of-year goal of selling $8 million in real estate. (Can you help us? Contact us today if you or someone you know is looking to buy, sell or rent!)

Sunday, February 5

Sunday was a whirlwind and felt more like a weekday than the last day of the weekend. We took two clients out to view properties and hosted an Open House. Luckily J and I aren't big football fans, so I didn't mind missing the Super Bowl. I caught Lady Gaga's halftime performance on Facebook a little while later. The gal is a performer... what can I say?

Monday, February 6

J and I tried a great new recipe: Creamy Italian Sausage & Mushroom Rigatoni. If you haven't had a chance to try it out, visit the link for the recipe! You know you've managed to find a great one when your husband and you end up comatose of the couch after too many servings.

Tuesday, February 7

Twin sis and I attend our company's weekly sales meeting. After the meeting, a group of us headed out to preview colleague's homes, as well as to preview the beautiful David Weekley model homes in The Heights at Two Creeks.

It was an extra fun time because I won a $25 gift card to The Olive Garden for being the first one to make the sales agent's phone ring. #millenialskills.

Wednesday, February 8

Our client's offer officially got accepted for a lot we found in Boerne. Always a fantastic feeling!

J and I made an Italian-American classic: Chicken Cacciatore. Um.... so good. I haven't gotten around to post the recipe, but it will be coming in the next few days. Hang tight!

Thursday, February 9

I completed an entire workout playlist from Blogilates for the first time in about a month, and boy am I sore. Because our meetings start early in the morning, I haven't been able to maintain my usual workout routine of taking Luna for a walk and then 45 minutes of Pilates. Thursday was one of the first days in a long time I had the time to work out. It felt good, but that night I couldn't sleep because it hurt to lay on my shoulders and arms. Wahhh!

Friday, February 10

Lunch meetings with other industry professionals just happens to be one of the fun perks of real estate. Twin sis and I met our new friend and title representative at a small neighborhood sushi restaurant called Sake. Uh... go try it. Don't let the atmosphere fool you. The sushi is amazing and reasonably priced.

From lunch to happy hour...

We met our childhood friend for drinks at Bar Louie Friday night. Bar Louie is one of my favorite happy hour places because they have chips and dip and fantastic martinis. My go-to drink "Tickled Pink". It's like your drinking a pink Jolly Rancher

By the time I decided to snap a photo of our drinks, sis and I had already finished half. Oh well...

Saturday, February 11

From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. sis and I showed homes to a lovely family with the world's funniest 4-year-old. He is quite the entertainer...

When I got home and finally J and I spent the next hour picking the jungle of weeds that had formed in our backyard. I don't know why we let it get that bad, but that will never happen again. No joke, some weeds were taller than Luna. We should have taken a "before and after" photo to show you the transformation from unruly to decent, but we totally forgot.

This is all you get, a weed-free panorama.... I'm struggling to get the 5 lbs. of dirt out from under my fingernails now. Manicure time!

Saturday night, J and I went to The Olive Garden for dinner since I won that gift card. Did you know that they give you half off wine by the glass and draft beer while you wait for your table? That is a nice little perk. We got a glass of wine and a beer for $6!

How did you spend your week?
