The Day My Life Became Complete

For those who know me, they know that I'm a huge Country Music fan. For those who really know me, they know that my all-time faaaaaavvvorrriiittee Country Music singer is, my boy, Garth Brooks.

Ever since I was a tween, I've been belting Garth Brooks songs at the top of my lungs when they come on the radio. My favorite song: "Thunder Rolls." You may be thinking, 'Sam, that song is about a woman who catches her man cheating and decides to kill him. Why is that song your favorite?'

We had great seats! We were in the first row of our section, so no one was blocking our view!

Okay, I'll give you that. The message isn't necessarily "happy joy, joy', but it's still my favorite.

  1.  I LOVE thunderstorms, so I think when I first heard this song, I actually thought it was about thunderstorms.
  2. The tune of the song is so catchy. It strikes a 'darker' cord which I had never heard before.

Enough about my obsession with that song...

J purchased Gina (my twin) and I tickets to his concert for our birthday, and it was seriously one of the best gifts he's ever given. (1. Engagement / Wedding Ring. 2. Luna 3. Garth Brooks tickets.)

It had been 18 years since Garth performed in SA, and when they announced he was coming back for his World Tour, I basically told J this is what he's getting me for my birthday, no if, and's or but's. Find a way, boy!

I had seen Garth once before in Las Vegas during his residency, but that concert was very different. In Vegas, it was just him and a guitar on stage in a smaller, more intimate setting. He played his songs, and covered others'. It was absolutely amazing, but nothing like his wild, multi-thousand person concerts.

Gina and I had the night of our lives dancing, singing and clapping along to literally every. single. song he sang. He performed all of his old classics, including my fave, "Thunder Rolls".

I instantly became a crazy fan girl when I heard the first few notes. Gina and I literally started jumping up and down, screaming, hugging, and I may have squeezed out a tear or two...

Bad picture, but this is when he performed "Thunder Rolls".

Y'all.... I'm not kidding when I say I LOVE THAT SONG. To hear it sung live by this brilliant artist was too much for me to handle. TOO MUCH TO HANDLE!

Performing "The River". What a great song. Get's me every time.  Yes, Gina and I pulled our our cell phones and participated in "lighting it up".

Some singers/ entertainers you fall in love with when you hear their stuff on the radio, only to go to a live concert and realize they are actually terrible singers, right? Not Garth! I truly believe he sounds better in person than on the radio. Crazy to think that he can jump and run around on stage and still pull off a flawless vocal performance. This man is a true pro.

No way did Garth disappoint this weekend. He still has it in him, and to think this man is stopping any time soon is to think wrong!

If I could have, I would've gone to every single one of his 4 SA performances.

I <3 GB.
